Open Question: Statutory Grievance Procedure (UK)?
Should the reporting of bullying to employer (senior manager notified in this case) be dealt with under Statutory Grievance Procedures? I as the employee raised grievances both informal verbally and also in writing to a senior manager. The Employer failed to act or follow their part taking away my rights in particular to any appeal. Is the employers failure a breach of the Stutory Grievance Procedure on their part ?

Resolved Question: What can I do if I got a negative decision for my Swiss Visit Visa Application ?
This in response to letter dated October 21, stating the informal refusal of my sponsored visa visit application to Switzerland. I am writing to signify my appeal and file my personal request for a formal decision.
Based on my verbal conversation with Embassy of Switzerland?s visa officer Ms. Jackie Jose last October 19, the informal denial was due to first, the discrepancy in my surname and place of birth in the birth and baptismal certificate, and second, they found my reason for going to Switzerland ? which is to spend a vacation with my father ? doubtful.
I am an illegitimate son of my single mother Mona Celina Revereza David. My father, Rached Ben r Zalila is a Tunisian who resides in Switzerland. Having born to unwed parents and who never lived together, my true and lawful name is Ivan Rached David and my place of birth is in San Ildefonso, Bulacan. The errors in the documents were committed by my mother in good faith, due to inadvertence and confusion. I have compiled and attached herewith all the documents, including an affidavit of explanation proving that Ivan Rached David and Ivan Rached Zalila both refer to me. In addition to this testament, the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs honored such documents (with regards to the discrepancy) and granted me my passport.
I have never met my father and have no communication with him until last September 2008 when we were able to get in touch through email.
My only intention of going to Switzerland is to see him and spend time with him ? something I haven?t experienced in my life. Although there?s no need for me to say, this opportunity to meet him in person will complete me.
I have a stable job as an account manager in a multinational company here in the Philippines. My employer supports my plan to visit my father and in fact, allowed me to take a month-long leave from work, from December 19, 2008 to January 19, 2009. I have given them the assurance that I will come back. And I assure your good office, too that I will be back to the Philippines. My life belongs here. All I want is to meet my father.
Its now December 19, 2008 - I just recieved an email coming from Federal office of Migration in Bern, Switzerland. My request for a formal decision was also denied. The reason was not yet discussed. But I wonder if I still have a chance to enter Switzerland after of all these procedures. I want to meet my father very soon and I beg those who might help me with this.
Sincerely yours,
Ivan Rached David

Resolved Question: Does anyone want to join an intellectual discussion group?
Hello WORLD
I am creating a group of individuals with a broad range of intellectual interests. I dream of a group of people who get together once or twice a month at a bar restaurant or coffee shop in San Francisco to have discussions about:
POLITICS
PHILOSOPHY
CURRENT EVENT
POETRY
ART
RELIGION
It can be an informal freestyle where we speak our mind about whatever topics we desire.
or
It could also take a more rigid shape like:
Reading books then discussing as a group.
Reading Philosophy the discussing as a group.
Assigning ourselves poems to imitate or rework to make our own.
I would like a hybrid of the two types of group. Room for us to discuss whats on our minds; however, some concrete reading and writing projects.
I need some intellectual nourishment for my soul. If this sounds appealing please send me an email and lets make it happen!

Resolved Question: What's the matter with the American People, how come no one complains anymore when they're treated unfairly?
I'm serious, I see it every day, people just accepting whatever they're told, like sheeple. Oh, well they're the ones in power and they said no, so I just can't do anything about it. Don't people know that they have the right to appeal a decision if they feel it is unfair? Don't people know that by them doing so that they are not only speaking up for themselves, but their speaking up for their fellow American citizens and helping to prevent them from being treated unfair. What ever happened to the American spirit? What, they come up with administrative agencies and now everyone lies down like sheep. An administrative agency is nothing more than a glorified business that can conduct its own trial before you are allowed to take your case to a US court. That's right a school, its an administrative agency, if you feel your child was graded on an unfair scale, you have a right to appeal that decision, and 9 out of 10 times, if you ask the teacher to either reevaluate and change that grade, or, if not, you want to request a formal hearing with the school board, that grade is going to get changed, for crying out loud people speak up for your kids! Speak up for yourself! If a place tells you, you have a right to appeal a decision, and you feel their decision is wrong and your right, appeal it for Petes sake, appeal, let them know you will not allow your rights to be trampled on. Once you appeal it, they will give you what they refer to as an, "informal hearing", which in layman's terms is nothing more than someone from their business hearing your case. 9 out of 10 times the situation will be resolved at this, "informal hearing", but if its not, be willing to take it to the next level, a regular, real court. Stick up for yourselves people, know your rights, do not be afraid of the word hearing, do not be afraid to go to a US court and tell a judge which you've helped elect into office, that your rights have been violated. Quit letting people trample you. Please and thank you. If you are someone who already stands up for your rights, good for you and thank your for making it easier for the next guy.
