Open Question: What do you think of my short story?
As tears streamed down her face, Sabrina rewound the TV over and over again. (She had one of those fancy shmancy TVs that actually rewind). She had to make sure her ears were deceiving her. Kitty had been her best friend her whole life, and now she's gone. After she found the place that had announce the headline, she pressed Play and watched it again. "Kristina "Kitty" Soloman went missing from her home earlier between 2 and 5 A.M. her parents found her bed empty and the window broken. If you have any information on her please call our Tip-line." Sabrina couldn't believe it. As she pondered for several hours, she finally made a decision. She was going to find Kitty, dead or alive. Sabrina, of course was not going to be alone. Her team consisted of, her 9 year old little brother,Josh, striving to be a detective, her German Shepard, Lilly, a retired police dog, and her other friend, Celina, who made straight A's and was taking a college course in Science. So, the team wasn't exactly whoop-de-doo amazing, but Sabrina knew if she played her Aces right, she could win it all, including her Best Friend. First, they were going to have to find evidence, which wouldn't be hard, after all, the moron actually flew through the window. "Does everyone have every thing?" Sabrina asked. "WAIT!" screamed Celina, "I forgot my gum!" "Screw your gum!" "I can't think without gum!" she spat back. "Fine, get your freaking gum" Sabrina retorted. Woof! Lilly was barking. "Shut up, Lilly!", Josh shouted. "Okay, I got my gum, we can go now." Tap, Tap, Tap. A tearful Mrs. Soloman answered the door. "Yes?" "Hi Mrs. Soloman, we were wondering if we could search Kit-er, Kristina's room?" "No I'm sorry, we really don't want anyone in there, I'm sorry Sabrina." And the door closed. "Well, I guess we'll sneak in," Sabrina said. Celina climbed through the window with Josh, while Sabrina and Lilly stood watch. About 15 minutes later, they crawled out. "What did you find?" "Fingerprints, a hair, and a fingernail..." Celina said slowly. "Great!" she exclaimed. Let's go analyze it. The kids tied Lilly up and snuck into Celina's college science classroom. They had a facial recognition and name database. They put the fingernail in the machine and when the match came up, Celina and Sabrina's jaws simultaneously dropped to the floor. "It's..it's Mr. Elwood." Mr. Elwood was everyone's favorite math teacher. Nobody hated him...well...until now at least. Josh got the phone book and looked up the address. "487 East Hemingway Street" Josh said quickly. They untied Lilly and rushed to the car. They drove to Mr. Elwood's house and rapped on the door. "Celina, Sabrina, what's up girls?" Sabrina eyed him furiously, "We know you kidnapped Kitty." "What?" "We have evidence that says you did." He grabbed Sabrina by the collar. "Listen kid-" Then Josh Shouted, "Lilly, bite him!" She chomped Mr. Elwood on the leg and gnawed at him. He collapsed to the ground and cried out in pain and agony. They ran inside and opened every door. Then there was a piercing scream. "Oh My God!" Celina screamed. There was Kitty, tied up in a closet. They didn't know if she was dead. Sabrina yanked out her cell phone and called the cops. "911 whats your emergency?" "I found Kitty, she's at 487 East Hemingway Street!" "We'll be right there." Two minutes later they heard screaming sirens and tires screeching. The house was filled with cops. "Ma'am we'll take it from here." So they left. When they got home there was a police officer standing on Sabrina's porch with her mom. "Sabrina-" "Is Kitty okay?" she interrupted. The police officer, bent his head down, and took off his hat. As, they lowered the casket into the ground, Celina and Sabrina burst out in tears. So did everyone else. The pastor cleared his throat, "Today we lie to rest a beautiful young woman, Kristina "Kitty" Soloman-" But that was all they could bear. They just walked away sobbing. In time, Celina and Sabrina became Best Friends, but in their hearts they still had Kitty. They would shed a tear now and then but eventually it became a memory. And one day when they got old and went to heaven, they saw Kitty again. It was just like it was when they were 16 years old. That is the definition of Best Friends Forever. yeah i thought about it but it was an idea i thought of on the spot and i just really had to write it down. i am 12 by the way.. hmm funny i thought that was the meaning of fiction. well okay i didn't technically state that but i thought i sorta made it clear. and I'm not in college. not even high school. i just thought of it and made up a story i don't want to be a writer so i think i can make it as unbelievable as i want have you HEARD of twilight? THANK YOU!! (more...)

Open Question: Shouldn't Israel be praised for sending medical, food, and water supplies to the Palestinians?
Why doesn't Israel get the praise they deserve? If a murderer barricades himself in your neighbors home, and the police and SWAT team arrive to bring him out, shouldn't they be allowed to cut water and electricity to that house in an attempt to get that murderer to surrender? Of course they should. So why is Israel being condemned for essentially doing the same thing? I bet you can't answer the question without adding inane questions and irrelevent facts of your own. That's because you agree with me: Israel should be pounding the day-lights out of this rogue, terrorist nation called Palestine. Am I correct? (more...)

Open Question: Someone I live with stole off me. What are the signs of a guilty concience?
I recently had 1,500 pounds stole from my bank account. I know it was someone from my flat who stole it because I had it in my room in my purse and the person knew my pin (i never gave to anyone but they must have seen me put it inwhen out shopping) and also money from my purse was taken and a pair of designer shoes. Now there are 8 other ppl living with me and I know it was one (or possibly more if they worked as a team) who took my money but I don't know who it could be. They were all friends but this incident has put a strain on everything. I informed everyone (pretending that I didn't suspect anyone) that the police had a really good cctv image of the person using my card at the cash point (which is true) and while 6 of the ppl just said it was good news the other 2 were asking me all sorts of questions and encouraging me to look at the stills. Now I suspected they had done the crime as they were overly interested but I may be wrong. How would someone who was guilty in this incident react differently to someone who was innocent? What are the signs of a guilty conscience? (more...)

Open Question: Can I sue someone for this?
Long story: On December 20th, at an unofficial basketball scrimmage for my local youth league, I was guarding a player on the other team (I'll call him TIM). Now, I wasn't in TIM's face, I wasn't touching him, I was just a few feet away, defensive basketball stance. TIM decides to throw an elbow, intentionally, at my head, and knocks me over. There are no refs, but the coaches still called it as an intentional foul, I shot my freethrows, whatever no big deal. But today, my team is playing TIM's team in an official, officiated with actual refs, youth league basketball game. I'm standing behind TIM, and TIM, with a closed fist, gives me a backhand punch to the mouth. The refs didn't see it, so there was no foul, but my mouth was bleeding a bunch, and I got gnarly cut on my lip. TIM has been known as a dirty player ever since we've been in the same league (I've been in this league since 3rd grade, I'm currently in the 12th grade). I have never spoken a word to TIM. Both of the 'incidents/assaults' were entirely unprovoked, and intentional. So, after the game, I took some pictures of my lip, and went down to the police station to press charges. I could probably get my whole basketball team to testify that TIM is a perpetually dirty player, and did, in fact, strike me intentionally. After the game, I took some pictures of my lip and went down to the police station to file charges against TIM. At this point, I think i'm going to press criminal charges against him. Does anyone with experience in similar case areas think I could take him to civil court and sue for damages? I 'lol' at you who think I should retaliate with violence. Even if I wanted to, he's pretty big, and on the football team (he's got a posse of guys who are pretty big, too). There are better ways to get non-legal revenge than just beating him up, as well. He's 4 months shy of being 18. TIM also has about 4 inches, and at least 50 pounds on me. I don't care who you are, I'm not sure anyone takes that fight. (more...)

Resolved Question: Danica Patrick caught speeding, and pays fine. Awww Come on, give her a break. Your thoughts?
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP)?Danica Patrick paid a $196 fine to settle a speeding ticket after the star race car driver was caught going 54 mph in a 35 mph zone last month. Patrick, the first woman to win an IndyCar race, was due in traffic court Monday, but a Scottsdale City Court clerk says she paid the fine Wednesday. The 26-year-old driver was pulled over by Scottsdale police Dec. 9 in her hometown while driving a 2007 Mercedes. A year ago, she was ticketed for driving 57 mph in a 40 mph zone in Scottsdale and was ordered to attend traffic school. Scottsdale court records show the recent tickets are among several she has received in the past three years. A call to Patrick?s racing team wasn?t immediately returned. Edit: Ok, Danica is hot! Call me a male pig or dog if you want but she's hot! ( ^ _ ^ ) I would have given her a warning and that's it. Besides, she a race car driver for crying out loud. What do you expect? She probably she was driving in a "normal" car and decided to punch it a little. Happens. : ) Oops. Typo. Sorry. I meant to say that she probably forgot that she was driving in a normal car instead of a race car. :) (more...)

Resolved Question: Serious law enforcement career choice?
Hello, I am a 14 year old boy. I'm in high school and I'm learning the importance of money and the "economy". I want to pick a good job that would be well suited for me because I am a picky/stubborn person naturally. Therefore, my question has a few parts to it. If you could take the time to read this, I would appreciate answers from real people who works in this field. I have always been interested in law enforcement and anything that has to do with it. I go to the shooting range with my dad almost every weekend or every other weekend and I love it. Now what ever job you have whether its SWAT, Police officer, Detective Etc. Please answer these set of questions and give me your experience with them. If you could please tell me 1. What do you need to be ready for (ex. physically fit, mentally, hardworking) 2. Is the salary worth the job. 3. What do you like best about your "Law enforcement job" 4. Anything else you want to add Just so you know I really would like to be part of a SWAT or ESU team. If you could give me background information on them that would help so much. I'm sorry if my question(s) are "all over the place" Thank you so much Garrett (more...)
