Open Question: Pink fleshy spot on my Pleco's face?
My Pleco, Lebron, was a perfectly happy and healthy little algae eater last night. When I returned from my classes today I did my usual routine of going to the tank he shares with two moor goldfish and saying Hi. He was acting normal just hooked onto a plant leaf minding his own business. On closer inspection I noticed a pink section covering most of his head. It looks bumpy kind of like a rash, and possibly the scales are missing. I'm wondering what would cause this? Could my goldfish me hurting him or is it some sort of disease? If anyone has some advice that would be awesome.

Resolved Question: Anyone know the average cost of brake repair on a 97 Doge Neon?
I recently bought a '97 Dodge Neon. Before I bought it I took it to Meineke to have a complete diagnostics test. According to the mechanic everything was fine, except for a few minor repairs such as the brakes. On the inspection form the break repair section is checked, specifically visual inspect of left, right, and rear rotor drum thickness. Anyone might know how much this can costs me? I hate to take it to a brake shop, have them charge me 50.00 to inspect it, then tell me it's going to cost 300.
Thanks

Resolved Question: Why are so many bulbs burnt out on my artificial pre-lit Christmas tree?
I bought an artificial pre-lit tree at Home Depot about 4 years ago. I think it has about 700-1000 lights, but we threw out the box last year. I put the tree up last weekend and over the week, I noticed lots of lights were out. Today on closer inspection, I noticed some branches (the lighting), all on the same level, are out completely. All the lights that are out have a darker shade inside the bulb; a burnt out look to them. I tried putting "good" lights in the burnt out sockets, but they don't light. Is it possible to have a section of the lights not work, maybe due to wiring? The dead bulbs don't work in "good" sockets, either. I don't know much about electrical, but is this common? The tree supposedly has that feature where even if a bulb is burnt out the rest of the string will work. I'm just so frustrated because I can see the non-lit patches on the tree and I don't want it up like that.

Resolved Question: Can i rent an airplane that is due for its 100 hour inspection if i have my private pilots license?
I was always under the assumption that I could not rent an airplane that was due for a 100 hour, the FBO that I fly out of says an airplane can be rented that is due for a 100 hour as long as its not being flown by a student pilot. After reading 91.409 in the FAR, and it reads as follows
( Except as provided in paragraph (c) of this section, no person may operate an aircraft carrying any person (other than a crewmember) for hire, and no person may give flight instruction for hire in an aircraft which that person provides, unless within the preceding 100 hours of time in service the aircraft has received an annual or 100-hour inspection and been approved for return to service in accordance with part 43 of this chapter or has received an inspection for the issuance of an airworthiness certificate in accordance with part 21 of this chapter. The 100-hour limitation may be exceeded by not more than 10 hours while en route to reach a place where the inspection can be done. The excess time used to reach a place where the inspection can be done must be included in computing the next 100 hours of time in service.)
It sounds like I might be able to but I don't want to be caught flying an aircraft that is not airworthy. They also wont let the aircraft be flown for primary instruction but they will let instrument and cfi students fly the aircraft with instruction. opinions any one?

Resolved Question: Do I have to notify my Insurance company about this?
I barely "tapped" someone going down the road at an intersection. The tap was so light that there was absolutely NO damage to my front bumper and NO damage done to her back bumper. We called the Police anyways, who did a walk-around of both vehicles and repeatedly said that there was nothing for him to report. The lady I tapped was adamant about getting a police report, because she used to be an insurance agent. The Police Officer said again to her "There is NOTHING for me to report, but if you're adamant about having a police report, then I can give you both an "exchange of information" card and I'll write a report". So, that's what the lady wanted.
Anyways-I looked at the card the Police Officer gave me, and it specifically says "Date of crash-November 12th, 2008" and in the "Non-Reportable" section it's checked off.
Do I have to notify my insurance company about this? The lady said that all she wanted to do was take her car to an inspection station to triple-check and make sure nothing got knocked loose. While I believe her, I'm just wondering if I really have to report this...I don't think there's anything on that report that says she can have my insurance pay for any repairs, since the "crash" (per se) was deemed "non-reportable......ugh.....

Resolved Question: 1993 BMW 325i Recalls?
I have a 93 BMW 325i, with about 180k on it. It will not pass inspection because of a brake switch failure (on the built-in diagnostics), and I looked up this INFO, and found out that there is indeed a recall on this situation. The entire back lighting section (break light, taillight) will not work on the drivers side. We bought all new bulbs, installed them, and still nothing. So it must be the switch itself .. If I take it to my local dealer, they will fix the recalls on this car for free, correct?
